There are over 3.8 billion people actively using social media globally. As the number rises, social media has become one of the most popular activities in 2020. Demographics on social media use shows that around 7 out of ten people in America use social media to connect with one another, engage with news content, share information, and for entertainment. Today, 72% of American adults use at least one of the social media platforms (Pew Research Center, 2020). Noticing how important social media has become in society, most brands are leveraging its power to reach their goals. Below is a list of effective social media tactics for businesses and brands.  

1- Develop a social media marketing plan

A marketing or digital plan is meant to guide you in determining what you are going to share and whom you will share it with. So, you will be able to identify and define your buyer personas, identify the content fit for them, define your business goals, choose a platform, and determine the tools you need to maximize and measure results.

2- Optimize your social media profiles

As a brand, it is important to have all your profiles optimized for easy find. Your profile on all platforms should be matching to make it easy for your audience to find you. Also, ensure to use relevant keywords to help you get discovered easily via search.  

3- Create branded pages

Ensure to brand your profile pages with attention-grabbing cover photos, colors, and background. Remember to use all the required image dimensions for your cover photos.

4- Use hashtags

Hashtags are your best option to keeping a conversation going around your brand or product. Use a catchy and easy to remember hashtag, it will help your audience easily find you. 9- Use the right tone

Every audience has its own unique tone, ensure that you apply the right tone for your target market. Remember to use a conversational tone. Don’t be too professional or too unprofessional. Be simple and approachable in your conversations.

10- Increase video content
